I consider myself a simple person… I’m very ‘low maintenance’ — not the type who has to go to a spa once a week for a relaxing massage, not one who needs to have my nails done every so and so, nor someone who has to go to the derma for a facial treatment.
In relation to that, I never really cared about fixing my brows… I don’t mean not caring about how it looks but I just wasn’t into ‘wasting’ my time putting eyebrow pencil or brow tint or what-have-you, until one day, one of my aunts told me that it was something I needed on my face — to have nice brows! She said that since our eyebrows frame our faces, we should make sure they look great.
After she said that, I started… no, wait… I tried to start putting on eyebrow pencil but found it rather hard coz I don’t know how to draw! HAHA 😛 Below are some of my attempts at drawing these lines of hair above my eyes. 😛 😛
A couple of months ago, during a family event, I learned that my cousin’s cousin [we kinda grew up together, so we ‘call’ ourselves cousins], Zhara, started a tattoo business — Z Brow. She does brow tattoo [among others]!! I immediately sent her a message and told her to make me her before and after ‘mowdel’… like I offered myself… no, actually, I sort of made her kulit. HAHA 😛
At first I was scared kase naman… tattoo?!? Hoowhat! Noooo!!! But like they say… tiis ganda ito! I also noticed that the pencils make my eyebrows itch and since I somehow perspire easily, I find it rather difficult to maintain the ‘drawing’ coz every time I wipe my face, the color of one of my brows gets lighter, so it’s weird coz one is lighter na, thinner pa! Oh dear! I told myself to endure the pain of the tattoo coz I’m done drawing. It’s something I’m not good at so deadma na with the pain. Last October 10, my daughter and I went all the way to Pasig to have my brows done… finally! Eto na to!
Here are before, during the process, and after pix of my old and new kilay. 🙂
There you go!!! Yay! 🙂 That’s right… I said yay, which means I’ve forgotten the ouch part and I forgot about it right after hehe 😛 The pain is actually bearable coz of the anesthesia… kaya ko pala! Wooooh!
I like Zhara’s goal of making your brows look natural. Natural okay, not perfect. She wants more of a #wokeuplikethis look because they are really still your eyebrows. I’m saying this coz I heard that some, who do the same service, shave off your brows completely and ‘add’ new ones from scratch, so they’ll look perfect… thick, very beautiful, and super pantay [which, I’m sure, some of you know is not always possible because our eyebrows don’t really look the same… talagang merong hindi pantay… in short, hindi perfect!].
According to Zhara, only 40 to 50% of the ink sticks to the skin and that still depends on the type of skin one has. This is the reason there are 2 sessions for this service [with her, that is]. I will go back some time next month for the retouch, but here are a couple of pictures of how my kilays look now. 🙂
I’m sure that for most girls, they need an hour or two just for doing their brows… I know someone who wakes up very early [before leaving for the office] because she needs like 3 hours for her kilay alone. And it happens! There are times when you badly need to go somewhere but then realize that you’re brows are ‘not there’. If you want ‘freedom’ from that and be able to leave the house any time… ‘to be beach ready and party ready’… check out Z Brow. It’s one of the most affordable ‘Premium Tinting Services’ you will find. Now, I can perspire and not mind wiping my sweat off my face, I can swim and still have nice kilay when I get out of the water, plus… I don’t have to worry about not having time to do my brows and I need to leave the house in a hurry. Yehey! 🙂 🙂
Aside from eyebrows, Zhara Banal also does scalp, areola, and lips tattoo. You interested? Give her a call now at +63917 861 1105 or text her if you want to schedule an appointment or ask questions.
